From Commanding Royal Engineer to General Acting Surveyor

My dear Sir,

I have received a letter from Col. Wilkins relative to the new road from House to near the Happy Valley, and with some minor details as to boundary near the magazines it will not be objected to by the Home Authorities, so that there appears to be no objection to the proposition now being put into official form.

Major General Bunker has not yet received from the War Office the restrictions which are probably to be imposed on him and until their arrival he would not like to take any steps with regard to making formal transfer of the land.

I have etc.,

(signed) Wilkinson Shaw,

Depy Asst Quarter Master General.

Yours etc.,

W. Wilson,

Royal Engineer's Office, Hong Kong,

15th December 1865.

Ag. Surveyor General, Hong Kong.
